Sucker rods are long mechanical links that transmit surface pumping motion or PCP torque downhole to lift oil. They are essential in artificial-lift systems.

Product Description

Corrosion of sucker rods has long been a thorny issue for rod-pumped wells in oil fields, especially in the later stages of oil field development. The high water content and high salinity of the produced fluid further exacerbate the corrosion, thereby affecting the service life of the sucker rods in the wells. Since the end of 2018, new material sucker rods have been successively put into use in wells at the Dongxin Oil Production Plant and Shengli Oil Production Plant of Shengli Oilfield, with an average well depth of over 2,000 meters. To date, all the sucker rods have been operating normally in their cycles. This product has provided a new direction for domestic oil fields to address the issue of short service life of oil wells.

The high-quality special steel sucker rods with super corrosion resistance, namely the 00Cr new material sucker rods, which have been developed and produced, have filled the gap in domestic and international corrosion protection technology for oil drilling and production equipment. The corrosion rate of these rods is only 1/40 that of conventional sucker rods, while their mechanical properties reach the H-level, and their fatigue life exceeds 10×10^6. This effectively solves the worldwide corrosion problem in the petroleum industry. The main characteristics of the super corrosion-resistant 00Cr new material sucker rods are high strength, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, and wear resistance. These features will significantly extend the service life of sucker rods in highly corrosive oil wells and provide strong technical support for oil wells to remain free of tubing changes for five years. The product has obtained multiple national invention patent authorizations and utility model patent authorizations. Its finished product price is much lower than that of similar imported products from abroad, which can greatly improve the efficiency of oil well exploitation and significantly reduce the cost of exploitation.
